Detectives are trying to trace a cyclist who may have witnessed a robbery in Thurlston.
At around 4.40pm on Saturday, March 2, a 17-year-old boy was walking along a footpath that leads between the Whernside Close car park and Raynesway when he saw two men and a girl.
One of the men demanded his mobile phone, pushed him to the floor and punched him in the face. He handed over his phone and the man ran off toward the footbridge.
The victim was helped up by passers-by, including a man on a bicycle who was wearing a high-visibility jacket.
Police are trying to trace the cyclist and are urging him to call Derby South CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A 22-year-old Alvaston man has been charged with robbery and was due before magistrates in Derby yesterday (Tuesday, March 5).
