Man robbed in Chaddesden

Posted on 2nd December 2013
Police are appealing for witnesses to a possible robbery in the early hours of Saturday morning, November 23, in Derby.

Between 3 – 4.30am a 26-year-old Chaddesden man was walking home along Maine Drive in Chaddesden after being dropped off by a taxi when he heard footsteps behind him.

He walked from the mini island near the doctors’ surgery but has no memory of what happened next. He says he woke up on the ground surrounded by trees and near a path. His phone and wallet were missing.

The man later received hospital treatment for head injuries.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time. PC Leah Conner said: “At this stage of the investigation we don’t know what happened. The man could have been assaulted, robbed or had his property stolen after his collapse. If you can help with my investigation please contact me on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
