Officers compiling a report for the coroner into the unexpected death of a man in Derby are appealing for people to come forward if they saw him collapse.

The 38-year-old was with a group of friends in Saddler Gate in the early hours of Sunday, May 27 when he collapsed and later died.

The man police would like to speak to

Just before he collapsed, it is believed that the man and his friends were involved in an argument outside Saddler’s bar with another group of men. Police do not believe that the man was assaulted, and his death is not being treated as suspicious, but they are keen to trace the men who were involved in the argument, or anyone who may have witnessed it. The information could help police compile their report for the coroner.

Officers would like to speak to the man in this CCTV image, who was seen in Saddler Gate at the time and may have witnessed something.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
