A group of people attacked a man as he walked home through Swadlincote.
At around 2.45am on Saturday, September 28, a 31-year-old man was walking along Frank Bodicote Way, near to Outram Drive, after visiting a friend nearby.
As he passed the bollards near Outram Drive, a group of five or six people emerged from nearby bushes and one of them hit him and asked for his property.
He fell to the ground and the group punched and kicked him while searching his pockets. They then all ran off in different directions.
The victim suffered a broken nose, cracked ribs and bruising and grazes. He was later treated at the Queen’s Medical Centre.
He later realised some change was missing from his pocket. He did not get a good look at the people who attacked him, only that they were all wearing hooded tops.
Police are trying to trace the group and a silver Citroen Picasso that was parked nearby at the time of the attack. Two white men were inside the car.
Anyone with information should call Swadlincote CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
