Police remain at the scene of a suspicious death in Derby this afternoon.

Officers were called to a house in Northumberland Street, Pear Tree, at 4.25pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 2) after a neighbour rang police to raise concerns about the man.

Police went into the house that afternoon and discovered the body of a man. He has yet to be formally identified but officers believe him to be aged 36.

A post mortem is yet to take place but officers are treating his death as suspicious. They have been carrying out house to house inquiries in the neighbourhood and would ask anyone with information, or anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area, to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
