Woman robbed in Chesterfield underpass

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that happened in Whittington Moor, Chesterfield.

At about 12.20pm on Wednesday October 2 a 24-year-old woman was walking through the underpass on Sheffield Road when a man, who was walking from the Brimington direction, bumped into her and asked for her mobile phone and cash.

She gave him a small amount of cash and ran off towards Whittington Moor.  She wasn’t injured.

The suspect was white, in his mid 20s, 5’ 7” tall and of medium build. He was wearing a red waterproof coat, with the hood up, and dark trousers or jeans. 

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information that would help the investigation should ring the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
