Man found injured on the Nutbrook trail died after the motorbike he was riding hit a tree

Police investigating the death of a man found injured on the Nutbrook Trail have revealed he died of head injuries.

Officers believe the 28-year-old suffered serious head injuries when the motorbike he was riding collided with a tree on the trail.

Paramedics and police officers were called to trail at Merlin Way, near to the Quarry Hill Industrial Estate, at around 1.20am today (Saturday, October 5).

They found the man lying injured on the trail and he was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, where he later died.

Although police are no longer treating the death as suspicious, they are investigating the circumstances of the man's death and how he came to be on the motorbike.

Two men, aged 24 and 20, were arrested at the scene and have now been questioned and released on bail. A third man, aged 30, was arrested this afternoon after he visited a police station. He is being questioned.
