Detectives re-appeal for information about a serious assault in a Whaley Bridge pub

Detectives investigating a serious assault, which has left the victim hospitalised for months, are re-appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The 22-year-old victim was with friends near the pool table of The Railway, in Market Street, Whaley Bridge, when he got into an argument with another customer.
The man hit the victim around the head with the thick end of a pool cue. He suffered a serious brain injury and has been in hospital ever since. The assault happened at 11pm on Friday, August 30.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and has been released on bail while the inquiry continues.
