Two people were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after officers found a suspected cannabis farm in a house in Wirksworth.

Officers attended an address in Water Lane and found what was believed to be a large quantity of cannabis and production kit inside.

A 62-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of producing a class B controlled drug. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The suspected drugs were discovered by police during a visit to the property at about 12.50pm on Monday, September 9.

Sergeant Adam Bryan, from Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I’d urge anyone who has information relating to suspected drug production, dealing or other activity to call police and let us know so we can work to keep our communities safe.”
