Two charged in connection with series of burglaries in Derby

Two men have been charged with offences including burglary and theft after break-ins in Derby.

Jamie Konzak and Damian Round were arrested on suspicion of burglary after a bicycle was stolen from a flat in Empress Road on Saturday, April 5.

Konzak, 29, was also arrested in connection with the theft of alcohol and cash from Riley’s Snooker Club, in Babington Lane, which was broken into between 2am and 4am on February 21, and a burglary at a house in Percy Street on February 23.

Round, 34, was also arrested on suspicion of theft after a handbag was stolen from a customer at The Book Café, in Derby’s Cornmarket, on Sunday, March 9.

Konzak, of Abbey Street, Derby, was charged with two counts of burglary and one of theft, while Round, also of Abbey Street, Derby, was charged with burglary and theft.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Derby Crown Court at a later date.
