Posted on 17th April 2014

Police in Derby are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Gurney Avenue in Sunnyhill, Derby.

At about 7.10am yesterday (Wednesday April 16) a 21-year-old woman was on her way to work when she was approached by a man who demanded her phone. He grabbed at her cardigan and snatched her phone from her pocket. In retaliation she kicked the back of his legs, which made him drop the phone. She picked it up and ran away.

She described the suspect as being white, about 5’8 – 10” tall and of medium build. He wore a black balaclava, a black hooded top, dark blue baggy jeans and trainers.

Anyone who has any information that would help the investigation should ring the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
