Detectives investigating a robbery on a Derby street have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace.

A 15-year-old boy was walking along Gladstone Street with two friends when a man cycled up and blocked their path.

The offender was then verbally abusive to the victim and demanded to know the time. When the victim took out his iPod to check, the robber grabbed it and punched the boy to make him let it go.

He then cycled away while the victim gave chase.

The robber was white, about 5ft 8ins, of slim build with short, blond hair. He was described as having a drawn or sunken face with deep set eyes. He wore jeans, a light grey cap with pink lettering and a dark jacket with a hood, and was riding a dark blue or purple bike.

Police have issued three CCTV stills of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at about 4.50pm on Tuesday, April 22.

Do you recognise the man in the images, or did you see the robbery take place?

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 16739/14. You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
