Teenager robbed by cyclist on stretch of canal path in Sandiacre

A teenaged boy was forced to hand over his mobile phone by a robber who had stopped to talk to the victim and his friends on a canal path.

The 16-year-old victim and two friends were at a stretch of canal path near Longmoor Lane, Sandiacre, when the robber cycled up to them.

The offender became aggressive with the group and then demanded that the victim hand over his phone.

He then threatened to hit the victim, before snatching the mobile phone and cycling off.

The incident took place at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, April 23.

The robber was white, aged 16 or 17, about 5ft 9ins, of skinny build and with short, light brown hair. He wore a black beanie style hat and black hooded top, and was riding a mountain bike.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or knows someone matching the description of the offender.
