CCTV image released after money is stolen from man in Derby

Posted on 16th April 2014

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to speak to in connection with the theft of money from a man in Derby.

At around 5.40pm on Monday, March 24 a 33-year-old man was walking along East Street when he was approached by a woman.

The woman struck up a conversation with the man and then asked him for money.

The victim took some money from his wallet and gave it to the woman.

At some point during the conversation it is alleged more money was taken from the man’s wallet without his permission.

The man realised money was missing and challenged the woman who then left.

The woman is described as white, in her 30s, with mid-length blonde hair and she spoke with a local accent.

Police believe the woman in the CCTV image may be able to help them with their inquiries.

The woman, or anyone who recognises her, is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
