Murder inquiry launched following death of a woman in Derby

Police are now treating the death of a woman in Derby as murder.

Officers were called shortly after 11am after the body was found by a member of the public on a service road at the back of houses on Hartington Street.

Police believe the body is that of a white woman in her 30s. 

Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit are leading the murder investigation. 

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between the night of Saturday, April 5 and 11am on Sunday, April 6 and saw anything suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101.
