Woman seriously injured in Alvaston road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision that occurred in Alvaston.

At around 1.40pm today (Wednesday, August 6) a serious collision occurred on a stretch of Boulton Lane involving a taxi and a Vauxhall Astra.

The driver of the Astra a 20-year-old man and four female passengers have been taken to Royal Derby Hospital and are not believed to have sustained any life threatening injuries.

The driver of the taxi, a 37-year-old man was carrying two passengers, he and one of the passengers was also taken to Royal Derby Hospital and are not believed to have sustained life threatening injuries.

The other passenger, a woman in her 80s sustained serious injuries and was taken to Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact police on 101.
