Buxton police seek information following suspected distraction burglary

Police in Buxton are appealing for witnesses following a suspected distraction burglary in Buxton.

At around 3.20pm on Monday, August 4, two men entered a property on Chatsworth Road in Buxton offering tobacco products for sale.

As the victim began to handle their money to pay for the goods, one of the offenders grabbed the cash and both men left the house.

It is believed that the offenders drove off in a maroon coloured estate car.

One of the men is described as white, 5ft 8 ins tall, aged in his mid-20s with dark brown short hair. He was of muscular build, clean shaven and wearing blue jeans with a dark blue coloured t-shirt.

The second man is described as white, clean shaven, and aged in his mid-30s. He is said to be slightly shorter than the first man.

Both of the men spoke with Irish accents.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the two men fitting this description.
