Five CCTV images released in connection with attempted robbery in Sinfin street

Police investigating an attempted robbery where the offenders tried to take a necklace from a 73-year-old woman have released CCTV images of people they want to speak to.

The victim was walking along The Chase, in Sinfin, when two youths overtook her and stopped further up the road.

As the victim walked between them, one of the offenders tried to grab a gold necklace she was wearing but the pair left empty-handed after a struggle.

One of the offenders was white, aged 17 or 18, about 5ft 7in, with short brown hair, of thin build and pale complexion. He wore a black t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

The second offender, who tried to grab the necklace, was white, aged 14 or 15, about 5ft 4in, of medium build and with short brown hair. He wore black jogging bottoms and a grey t-shirt.

Police have now released CCTV images of people they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at about 6.15pm on Thursday, July 17.
