Man arrested on suspicion of Swadlincote robbery

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Swadlincote in the early hours of this morning (Friday August 15) on suspicion of robbery.  He remains in police custody and will be questioned today.

At 11am yesterday (Thursday August 14) a woman in her eighties was robbed as she walked along Ruston Close in the town. The woman was knocked to the ground and the offender rode off on a bike.

The victim has since been taken to Burton Hospital with a suspected broken arm.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who either witnessed or who has information about this incident.
