Posted on 19th August 2014

Police are appealing for witnesses after a safe was stolen during a break-in at a house in Chaddesden.

The house, in Wood Road, was broken into between about 5.30pm and 5.50pm on Friday, August 15.

Among the items stolen was cash, a necklace and a wall safe with cash inside it.

Police believe the offenders, who broke in through a kitchen window, may have used a blue cloth to cover the safe when making off.

Officers want to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have seen people leaving the area carrying a safe or similarly bulky item.

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 34261/14.
