Handbag stolen after woman was robbed in Chellaston path

A woman was forced to the ground as she walked along a path in Chellaston by a robber who took her handbag.

The victim was walking along a footpath linking Linacres Drive with Back Lane when a man grabbed her bag from her arm.

He then forced the victim to the floor before running off with the handbag, which was cream in colour and contained items including the victim’s purse.

The offender was white, aged about 18, and wore a light brown and blue zipped jacket with a hoodie underneath.

Anyone with information on the offence, which happened at about 9.10pm on Wednesday, August 20, should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting incident 706 of August 20.
