Information appeal after man is assaulted in Swadlincote

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Swadlincote, Derby.

At around 3pm on Thursday, July 24, a man was walking along John Street near to the entrance of Eureka Park in Swadlincote, when he was approached by two men and assaulted.

The victim was punched in the face and forced to the floor where he received a blow to the head and also to his knee by an unknown object.

The assault resulted in the victim receiving treatment for a broken kneecap at Burton Queens Accident and Emergency.

Officers are keen to speak to a woman who was seen to be sat in a vehicle around the time of the incident, and a man who later joined her, to aid their investigation.
