Man seriously injured in assault in Glossop

A man was seriously injured in assault in Glossop last night (Saturday August 30).

The incident happened at about 8pm on the junction of Henry Street and Norfolk Street when several people were allegedly involved in a disturbance.  A 29-year-old local man sustained serious injuries and is being treated in Salford Royal Hospital. A 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Four people, a woman, two men and a youth, were arrested  and remain in police custody.
