Police appeal for witnesses to robbery on a Swadlincote street

Detectives are appealing for information following a street robbery in Swadlincote.

At around 11am today (Thursday, August 14) a woman in her eighties was walking along Ruston Close, Swadlincote when a man approached her and snatched her handbag.

The woman was knocked to the ground and the offender rode off on a bike.

The victim has since been taken to Burton Hospital with a suspected broken arm.

The man is described as white, wearing black clothing, black gloves and riding a black coloured bike.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who either witnessed or who has information about this incident.
