Man charged with robbing woman at bus stop

A man has been charged with robbery after a woman allegedly had her handbag stolen while she was standing at a bus stop.

The 32-year-old victim was waiting for a bus in Derby Road, Chellaston, when she was approached from behind.

She had her handbag snatched from her arm during the incident, which happened at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, November 26.

Ashley Davey, 22, was arrested in connection with the alleged offence and has now been charged with robbery.

Davey, of Harvey Road, Allenton, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded by the court.
