Posted on 4th December 2014

Three masked robbers tried to take a phone from a woman who was walking in Derby but left empty-handed after she resisted.

The 21-year-old victim was walking along London Road, Derby, when she was confronted by three men on bikes near the junction with Oxford Street.

One of the would-be robbers grabbed her phone, which she was using at the time, and tried to snatch it away.

The victim held on to the phone and the three robbers cycled off empty-handed in the direction of Osmaston Road.

The three offenders were white, aged about 18 to 20, and were all wearing dark clothing. One wore a baseball cap while the other two had scarves pulled up to conceal the lower part of their faces.

Police want to hear from witnesses or anyone who saw three men matching those descriptions around the time of the offence, which happened at about 4.45pm on Monday, December 1.

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 51118/14.
