Police appeal for witnesses following an assault in Chellaston.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted as he walked along a street in Chellaston.

On Saturday, December 13 at 1am a man was walking along Derby Road towards Shelton Lock. As he approached the Parkway roundabout he saw a group of three men and one woman.

As the man walked past the group one of them began shouting. He turned around and saw one of the men running towards him and was then punched in the face.

The offender ran off back to the group and continued along Derby Road towards Shelton Lock. He was described as mixed race, 19-20 years old and of a slim build. He was wearing a red baseball cap and a red tracksuit top.

The woman in the group was described as white with long, straight blonde hair and was wearing a cream padded jacket. She was approximately 5ft 5ins tall and of a slim build. The other two men in the group were wearing dark coloured clothing with hoods up and scarves worn over their mouths.

The victim received hospital treatment and suffered a broken cheekbone.
