Posted on 19th December 2014

Police are appealing for witnesses after a large amount of cigarettes were stolen from a fuel station in Whaley Bridge.

Three men forced open shutters to the kiosk area at the Tesco patrol station, in Buxton Road, before breaking through the door.

They then stole a large number of cigarettes from behind the counter during the incident, which happened at about 12.15am today. (Friday, December 19)

The offenders then left the kiosk and drove off in a silver car.

Police investigating the burglary want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, or who might have seen a silver car leaving at speed.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting incident 16 of December 19.
