Three men steal cash and cigarettes from Alvaston Co-op

Police are appealing for information about a robbery at the Co-op on Holbrook Road in Alvaston yesterday (Sunday December 21).

The store opened as usual at 7am and at about 7.20am three men went into the shop and threatened the staff.  They demanded cash and cigarettes.

No weapons were seen but the three members of staff were locked in a storeroom while the offenders escaped.  No-one was injured.

The suspects were dressed in dark clothing, with their hoods up and faces covered scarves.  They carried two large holdalls that they filled with cigarettes.
