House in Renishaw burgled - did you see anything suspicious?

Posted on 30th December 2014

Police in Renishaw are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in the town.

The offence happened between 12 noon and 4pm on Tuesday December 23 on Hague Lane in Renishaw when someone broke in through the patio door.

Some Christmas presents as well as other items were stolen.  They included a small dark grey suitcase which police believe was used to carry the stolen property.  Other items were a silver Apple iPod that was engraved with a name and phone number, an Acer laptop, a Sony laptop, a black Apple iPad and a gold chain with an engraved charm attached.

Neighbours saw two strangers in the area at around noon and police would like to speak to these people because they may have information about the offence.  One of the men was in his early 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with light brown short hair.  He was wearing a black padded jacket and black bottoms.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or who has information that would help the police investigation should ring PC Shaun Chambers on 101 and quote crime number 54214/14.  Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
