Burton man injured in Derby

Police in Derby are appealing for information about a stabbing in the area of Lower Dale Road in Derby last night.

In the early hours of this morning (Wednesday December 31) an injured man was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital by a passer-by who realised he needed medical attention.

The man, who is 23-years-old and from Burton, had a stab wound in his chest.  He has undergone surgery and is in a critical but stable condition.

Police have not been able to speak to the victim and have no information about how he was injured.
