Twelve charged with drugs offences after police warrants in Normanton

Twelve people who were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences during a series of police warrants have now been charged.

A total of 16 people, including a teenaged boy, were arrested in two waves of warrants in the Cambridge Street area of Normanton on the morning of Tuesday, February 11.

Suspected class A and B drugs, property believed to be stolen and four possibly banned dogs were also seized during the operation by Derbyshire police and the National Crime Agency.

Four of those arrested have been bailed pending further inquiries, while 12 people aged between 16 and 46 have been charged.

Eleven were charged with conspiracy to supply class B drugs. One was charged with production of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.

Seven have been remanded in custody and five were bailed.

All 12 will appear at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday, February 26.
