Man arrested in connection with Derby robberies

A man has been arrested in connection with several crimes in Derby.
The 45-year-old has been charged with robbing a 68-year-old woman in Albert Street at around 7pm on Friday, February 14.
The victim alleges that he tried to take her handbag and the pair struggled until members of the public intervened and detained him.
He was arrested in connection with a burglary at a house in Gerard Street on February 13.
He has also been questioned in connection with a robbery in Cambridge Street on February 14 in which a man snatched a handbag from a woman sat in her parked car and a robbery in Mill Hill Lane on the same day in which a woman’s bag was snatched as she got out of her car.
The man has been released on bail in relation to the other crimes.
