Burglars steal six canoes and paddles from Scout hut

Posted on 19th February 2014

Police are appealing for witnesses after six canoes and paddles were stolen from a Scout group’s Derby base.

Thieves broke into a storage shed on the grounds of the 35th Derby Scout Group, in Watson Street, and took the six canoes from inside.

The offenders then climbed over a fence at the site and made off with the canoes and paddles.

The break-in took place between January 1 and Friday, February 14, when it was discovered and later reported to police.

Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the Scout group’s grounds, or did you witness canoes being moved off the site?

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
