Three men charged with robbery after man is allegedly attacked in street

Three men who were arrested after a pedestrian was reportedly attacked in a Chaddesden street have been charged with robbery.

The alleged incident took place in Nottingham Road at about 5.40am on Monday, February 17.

A 53-year-old man was walking along the road when he said he was attacked by three men who took his backpack.

Police officers arrested three suspects at a property in Meath Avenue and all three have now been charged with robbery.

They are Declan Holness, 20, of Kitchener Avenue, Derby; Craig Lacey, 22, of Griffin Close, Alvaston; and Daryl Abbey, 20, of no fixed abode.

The three men were remanded into custody and were due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 18.
