Motorcyclist dies following collision in Shirland

A 21-year-old motorbike rider has died following a collision in Shirland.
At around 6.30pm on Tuesday, January 14 a collision took place between a red Honda motorcycle and a blue Vauxhall Astra on the A61 Chesterfield Road.
The motorbike was travelling towards Chesterfield when the collision occurred. The rider was thrown from the bike and he suffered significant injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed until 12.30am while officers carried out investigations at the scene.
