Tyres slashed as fishermen take part in charity event

Posted on 8th July 2014

Three vehicles that were parked in a lay-by off the A38 in Derby had their tyres slashed as the owners were taking part in a charity fishing event nearby.

Two Vauxhall cars and a Peugeot were parked in the lay-by near Markeaton Island when they were targeted by vandals who slashed all of the tyres.

The offence took place between 1pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, July 5, when the owners were raising funds for Help for Heroes during a fishing event at a lake in Markeaton Park.

Police want to hear from anyone who might have seen people acting suspiciously around the vehicles between those times.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 27901/14.

You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
