Police appeal for witnesses to an alleged assault in Belper

Police appeal for information after a woman was allegedly assaulted in Belper.

On Saturday, June 14 between 4.50pm and 5.10pm a woman was in Belper River Gardens walking her two-year-old grandson in a pushchair.

She stopped to speak to a man who she knew and got into his car where an altercation took place. The man then allegedly slapped her face and pushed her and the child from the car.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact PC James Shaw at Ripley Police Station using the 101 number.
