Thirteen-year-old charged with robbery after incident in Alvaston

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with robbery after allegedly threatening a teenager with a pair of nail scissors.

The 17-year-old victim was walking along Harvey Road, Allenton, when he was approached by a boy on a bike.

The cyclist then allegedly threatened the victim with a pair of nail scissors and took his phone.

The incident took place at about 8.30pm on Saturday, July 5.

Police arrested the 13-year-old boy shortly afterwards and he has now been charged with robbery and possessing a bladed article.

He was due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 9.
