Jewellery stolen from car after thieves smash window

The Nissan Qashqai was parked in a car park off Heage Lane, Etwall, when it was broken into.

The offenders smashed a window and took two bags of jewellery, which included gemstone pendants, necklaces, an art deco brooch, gemstone earrings, a large collection of costume jewellery and a King George V silver jubilee medal dating to 1935.

They had been bought at an auction held by Hansons Auctioneers nearby on the day of the theft, which took place at about 6pm on Thursday, June 19.

Police want to hear from anyone with informatiEtwall-jewellery3on on the theft. Officers also want to trace the driver of a blue Citroen Picasso that was parked in the car park of the Seven Wells pub.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Lucy Kerry on 101, quoting crime reference 25482/14.
