Witness appeal after attempted robbery in Mickleover street

Posted on 14th July 2014

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was approached by a robber and told to hand over money.

The 64-year-old man was walking his dog along Roydon Close, Mickleover, at about 11.45pm on Friday when he was stopped by the offender.

The would-be robber threatened him with a knife but ran off after the victim refused to give him anything.

He was described as mixed race, aged 18, about 5ft 10ins, of medium build with a chubby face and a wide nose. He wore a dark grey hoodie, jeans, grey or white striped trainers and a baseball cap with a white logo on it.

Police want to hear from anyone who recognises that description or might have seen the offender around the time of the offence.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 28853/14.

You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
