Appeal after two would-be robbers target man in Derby street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted by two robbers who tried to take his belongings.

The 20-year-old victim was walking along Ashbourne Road at about 1.45am on Saturday, July 26 when he was approached by the pair.

They told the victim to empty his pockets and punched him twice when he refused. The victim managed to escape without handing over any of his belongings.

One of the robbers was white, aged 18, about 5ft 9in, skinny, with short dark brown hair and freckles. He wore a white t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

The second was white, also aged about 18 and 5ft 9in, with short ginger hair. He wore a grey t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms. Both of them were carrying small, single strapped bags.

Detectives investigating the robbery want to hear from anyone who recognises the descriptions of the offenders.
