Police seek witnesses after a handbag was stolen at Buxton Carnival.

On Saturday, July 12 at 6.30pm two girls were at the fair on Buxton Market Place. One of them went on a ride while the other minded her handbag for her.

The girl minding the bag was distracted by a group of girls. When she looked down the handbag had gone and the group of girls ran off.

The handbag was later found in the town hall toilets where cash and a black iPod 4th Generation had been taken from it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Chris Sweetmore at Buxton police station using the non-emergency 101 number.
