Posted on 9th June 2014

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary on Leek Road in Buxton that happened on Monday June 2.

Between 2.30pm and 3.30pm someone broke into the premises, through an open bedroom window, while the occupant was out and stole jewellery and building society books.

The jewellery that was taken included gold earrings, a gold sovereign necklace, a heart-shaped pendant, a three stone amethyst ring and a gold, jewel-encrusted Waltham watch.

Officers are warning residents to close their windows when they leave their homes.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who has any information about the burglary should contact DC Laura Weston on 101.
