Woman has sentimental items stolen in Chaddesden

Woman on mobility scooter is robbed in Chaddesden.

On Thursday, June 12 at 2.30pm an 80-year-old woman was riding her mobility scooter along Max Road, towards Sussex Circus when she was approached by a man.

She crossed the road and went on to Peterborough Street. The man then approached her again and grabbed her handbag and ran off towards Max Road.

The handbag, which was black leather, contained a miniature of the Virgin Mary and an embroidered flowered handkerchief, both of which were of sentimental value to the woman.

The man was described as approximately 25 years-old, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build. He had short hair and was clean shaven apart from stubble above his top lip. He was wearing dark coloured trousers and top and was carrying some papers in his hand.
