People in Derby get chance to find out more about policing

Visitors to Derby Market Place will have the opportunity to find out more about Derbyshire Constabulary at the end of the month.

The Police Experience is part of Inspiring Derby week and Saturday, June 28 will see a number of police officers and police staff from different areas displaying their work and providing information on policing in Derbyshire.

The event will run from 10am – 4pm. Among the attractions will be roads policing officers, a police dog and its handler and police cars which will include a selection of vintage models.

Officers who are specially trained in public order policing will be there displaying specialist equipment and our partners Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service will also be demonstrating a smoke tent.

Children are also welcome at the event, there will be a children’s activity corner and a quiz.

There will also be a chance to meet the Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Charles who will be attending with his deputy Hardyal Dhindsa.
