Two youths arrested in connection with Spondon assault

A 28-year-old man suffered serious head and facial injuries when he was assaulted in Spondon on Friday night (June 20).

Several people were involved in an argument outside the Tamarind restaurant at about 9.30pm.  The group moved to a grassed area in front of the Co-op on Chapel Street which was were the assault took place.

The injured man, who is from Birmingham, is being treated for his injuries in the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

A 17-year-old youth from Chaddesden, 16-year-old youth from Spondon were arrested, questioned and released on police bail in connection with the assault. 

A number of witnesses have already come forward but police are appealing to anyone else who was in the area at the time to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
