Man charged with assault following disturbance in Chesterfield

A man has been charged with assault following a disturbance in Holme Hall, Chesterfield, at the weekend.

Police were called to reports of a group of people fighting near to the flats on Cauldon Drive at 12.30am on Sunday, June 22.

During the disturbance a 20-year-old man was allegedly struck to the ground. He was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital by ambulance suffering from an injury to the head.

One man was arrested shortly after incident and was later charged with wounding with intent.

Christopher Blair, 25, of Cauldon Drive, Chesterfield was due to appear at North East Derbyshire and Dales Magistrates Court on Monday, June 23.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
