Witness appeal after shopper is robbed outside Staveley supermarket

A woman was robbed by two people while out shopping in Staveley.

The 57-year-old victim was walking outside the Morrisons supermarket in Barnfield Close when she was approached by two men.

She was forced to hand over cash during the incident, which happened at about 12.30pm on Sunday, March 2.

Police want to hear from a couple who the victim believed were called Shirley and John, who had helped her after the robbery.

The offenders were described as white and were both wearing dark coloured hooded tops, jeans and trainers. One was aged about 17 while the second was aged about 19 to 20.

One of the robbers had what was thought to be a tattoo of a swallow on his hand and the words ‘Love’ and ‘Hate’ on his knuckles.
