Posted on 27th March 2014

Police in Derby are appealing for information following a burglary in Littleover.

Overnight between Sunday, March 16 and Monday, March 17, offenders gained entry to a property on Brayfield Road by damaging the rear door.

Sentimental items were stolen from the property including a selection of commemorative coins and a distinctive gold brooch that had been passed onto the victim by her late sister.

The brooch is oblong in shape with three diamonds through the middle and a gold safety chain on the catch.

Cash and a red jewellery box were also stolen from the 93-year-old victim’s home.

Officers are urging homeowners to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
